Nine sporting enthusiasts descended / ascended to Ardverikie Estate,
between Newtonmore and Spean Bridge, ‘en face de’ the famous, and
also elusive (given the weather) Creag Meagaidh for a joint meet with
Inverness Back Country Ski Club (IBSC). We engaged in outdoor activities
centred unfortunately off-snow due to well, Scotland being Scotland.

The accommodation was cosy, exclusive and warm, the location exquisite
– with a majority(?) of Scotland’s best mountainous terrain within a
1+ hour perimeter, the company was diverse, engaging and inclusive.]

Highlights included a group hike to some otherwise very awkward and
deceptively large Munro’s –, using vehicle access into the estate
only available to tenants. There was some excellent, if soggy, low level
biking around the estate taking in views of the famous Ardverike Wall,
home to one of Scotland’s best loved rock climbs, and TWO incredible
sideshows of East Greenland courtesy of Stu and Declan. Also, there is a
‘wee’ and quite spectacular waterfall a few metres up from the cabins.

Much appreciation is due to Alan S for seemless coordination. I will
not hesitate to attend this meet in the future, snow or no snow, the
location and accommodation are truly rare.
